We are overwhelmed with positive comments/reviews in various types of media and
we consider each of them as a source of ongoing inspiration for us to continue
serving delicious 100% organic food to people who appreciate it.
Below is just a sample..... Part 1. Media Coverage"All restaurants have an agenda. Most of the time it's to make as much money as possible by doing as little as required, but that's not true of Camros Organic Eatery."
"There are certain areas in this city that appear to be purposely designed to
keep those who work 9 to 5 locked in a malnourished daze.....Such is not the case
for those who work in the Yonge and Bloor area. Tucked away on Hayden Street is
Camros....Behind the glass counter are steaming chafing dishes full of stews and
trays of salads, all of which scream GET A LOAD OF MY PHYTOCHEMICALS, CUBE-DWELLER!"
"Purists like the owners of Camros Organic Foods in Toronto are also keen to do what they can to create a market for biodegradable packaging. Manager Saeed Rouhani says the family-owned business is one of the only ones to use completely biodegradable materials for its take-out containers (they're made from sugar cane) and cutlery (potato starch). 'Sustainable packaging was always part of our business plan' he said. "Even though it costs five to seven times more than other products, we believe it requires a bit of sacrifice to get the industry to move in this direction."
"Shoppers and cubicle-dwellers alike can take advantage of this oasis of
calm near the city's nexus. Offering Persian dishes made from organic ingredients, Carmos delivers
a surprising and flexible lunch menu that is served in 33 minutes. Who thought this existed in the
shadow of the Manulife Centre?"
- "Yonge and Bloor is a tough place to find a non-fast-food lunch. But this terrific little place is merely a block away."
- "Living in Toronto, I rarely buy my lunch out. Whenever I can tell I have a cold coming, I indulge at Camros for some healthy delicious fare."
"Free of glutens, sugars, and trans fat, the food here is not free of flavour."
"Looking for a restaurant that offers good vegetarian/vegan options instead of fries or anything loaded with cheese and bell peppers is hard. After reading the reviews on Camros I decided to give it a try....I stopped in last week to get a two item combo and the guy behind the counter (the staff looked really happy, I felt like I should apply to work there) recommended the green stew plus kale salad with the tahini. I was delighted to see them use those new trendy recycled take out boxes and these awesome wooden sporks. I love the sporks!! My meal was deliciously hearty and I wasn’t able to finish it all at once – the stew was very filling. I felt so satisfied for a few hours and plan to go back and try the rice balls which looked really good"
"All meals created at this city oasis are 100% organic, unless clearly
stated otherwise. (When I was there, it was evident Camros cares. A note
above the food read that in their decision to choose in-season items, the
restaurant would be serving regular lemons that day as opposed to organic
ones, because the city supply had run dry.) The gang at Camros even provides
contact information for their food suppliers, just in case you have doubts"
A hidden gem at yonge and bloor
"You occasionally hear about places that sound too good to be true. And then you finally go and you leave just a little disappointed, a little heartbroken....Not at Camros Organic Eatery!
This is the most 'green' restaurant you'll probably frequent. There is a sign asking you not to take too many napkins, and the containers and cutlery 100% biodegradable, which are much more expensive for them to purchase than plastic ones, but they believe it is better for us and the earth."
